Five Suggestions for Getting the Most Out of Textbook Reading:
1. Keep a dictionary handy when you read, and use it to look up unfamiliar words.
2. Pre-read (quick skim) the section to see how it is organized in relation to Mr. Shears' chapter/section guides.
3. Do one in-depth reading before even starting the written homework. Read every word!
4. Make a list of confusing bits and/or questions that you can bring up in class to get clarification.
5. Don't forget to read & analyze graphs, charts, cartoons, and other data sets presented in addition to the 'main text'.
